SPRING GEESE IN THE KLAMATH BASIN!!

Well, they were a little later this year, but they are here in large numbers!  Beautiflu flights of geese can be seen, especially in the morning and evenings!  There is lots of feed for them however on the Refuge, so that is where they seem to be mainly hanging out.  So far the cholera has been very light too, it isn't very frozen here and so there is lots of room for the birds to spread out.  A few people are having some great hunts however.  White Lakes are full of pintail!!  A bumper crop of them this year, we can only hope that we have a higher number of sprig included in our bag limits this year!

My comute home from work last thursday was full of sites like this, this is the north side of Stateline Road, across from Unit 3.  A beautiful thing to see for sure.

Lots of things are coming up with Cal-Ore, and we hope you can participate in some of the upcoming projects.  The Newsletter will be sent out this week, and check for upcoming events.  Also, some changes have occurred within the organization, and we hope to be a little more timely with the newsletter, as well as getting past and current issues available on the website.  Thanks for being patient with us during our changes.

In brief, you should know the following about us: our organization was incorportated in July 2001, and has been responsible for providing volunteer help working in coordination with the Klamath Basin Refuges. Our goal is to restore wetland habitat for migratory birds to enhance quality hunting on Federal lands by the general public.

In the meantime you can reach us at 541-798-5098 and by fax at 541-798-5098. We are looking forward to hearing from you. You can also contact us at our e-mail address: mail@cal-orewetlands.org

After a good hunt and a great lunch, the junior hunters anxiously wait to see who wins the prizes!!
