Today COWCC has about 500 members and many volunteers who help with waterfowl disease control efforts, habitat improvement projects, and improving access for disabled persons on the Klamath Basin Refuges. Many of us have been committee members or volunteers for other organizations. We formed COWWC because we did not see enough of our efforts result in improvements to the Klamath Basin where we hunt the majority of the time. Therefore, we formed an organiztion speicifically limited to the Klamath Basin so that whatever we raised or did stayed here and did not end up somewhere else.
Our purpose is to be a public benefit charitable corportaion with the objective of preserving and increasing wildlife in the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges as well as the surrounding Klamath Basin area thereby enhancing healthy populations of birds to allow continued quality hunting opportunites for the general public. We work in direct coordination with the Refuge and only with their permission when performing volunteer work. Such work includes habitat improvement, diesease control and refuge maintanence.
